CARMEN "The Divine"

A woman of her own, selfmade, hot and cold, distant and close.

She has charms and knows how to use them. Behind an air of determination, a sensitive woman who can easily burst into tears; sometimes feeling lonely, sometimes feeling blue.

Always protecting me, "my little sister" she calls me. She is more than that to me: a source of inspiration from the very first time I met her and now the one I rely on when I feel weak and fall and need a hand to rescue me when I am lost.

And I see her walking down the University corridors in her colourful clothes, so daring, so bright, red lips, style. Tomato soup, poetry and that violet liquor "Parfait Amour", the afternoons in your cozy home of San Antón.

Then it came the American dream and all those experiences. Remember when you made my bed, remember when I made the bread. And "Ripleys" and Reggae, Katharina and the rest...

Distance and years passing did not move us apart and never will. It is a pleasure to share this friendship, the close bond we created.

She is Carmen, she is divine.

ÁFRICA

Para ti y por ti, amiga del alma, la primera entrada de mi blog.

Porque me sigue doliendo que no estés, porque nada me llena este hueco dentro, el vacío, porque lloro cuando te encuentro y porque lloro cuando te vas. Me duele la distancia, tu ausencia, que yo esté en Boston y tú en California, sister. Sí, tú en California por lo del clima de esas tierras de Dios donde estás desterrada, "Tomato Land". Yo en Boston, que para eso paso más frío y estoy más al norte, al otro lado del mapa.

Hoy, como muchos otros días, te recuerdo y te dedico este rato que tengo tierno (¡qué daño hacen las hormonas!). Llueve aquí, por fin, y te habría llamado para tomar un cafetito en tu casa (siempre se te dió mejor a ti eso de los cafés, la verdad sea dicha). No nos faltarían nuestras amigas la Confidencia, la Complicidad, la Comprensión y una buena dosis de risa junto con las pastas.

Que sepas que, como prometí, te estoy programando, tú me entiendes.
